In January 2019 Mangostone won the contract with Bristol Zoo to supply a range of permanent, interactive exhibits for ‘Bear Wood’ - an ambitious new development at their Wild Place site in South Gloucestershire. Bear Wood is a stretch of enclosed ancient woodland that has been repopulated with bears, wolves and lynx. In an impressive feat of engineering Wild Place Projects have built a wooden walkway that winds its way through the site at tree-top height - up to 4m from the ground, for three-quarters of a kilometre. We designed and built the exhibits for that walkway experience - all of which are outdoor exhibits with moving mechanical parts. Bear Wood won the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors South West Social Impact Award:
