Laurens Nockels - Director

Laurens graduated in 1997 from UWE Bristol where he studied Sculpture. He began his career working as a freelance sculptor, set builder, prop maker and props master within the film industry. He moved on to work with Aardman Animations doing set building, prop making, art direction and model making for various stop frame animation feature films, as well as woking on a string of music promos and commercials.

It was while travelling in Central America, sitting on a beach in Honduras eating a mango, that he first thought of the name 'Mangostone', it would be 20 years before he would register the company name in 2017.

In 2013 - Laurens went to Pinewood Studios, after working on Ridley Scott's Exodus Gods & Kings he set up and ran Pinewood Creative, an in-house set building and prop making department based at the studios- supplying major productions such as Star Wars, Assassins Creed, Beauty & The Beast, and The Nutcracker, to name a few.

In 2017 Laurens returned to Bristol to launch Mangostone Ltd.
