Mangostone were commissioned by BBC Studios to create three replica fossilised dinosaur skulls for the second series of ‘Prehistoric Planet’: a Mosasaur, a Quezalcoatlus and a Triceratops. They were sculpted by hand in clay, moulded, cast in fibreglass, pigmented and artworked. Click on the image to expand.

Mangostone’s master sculptor Matthew Healey on location with the jesmonite dino skull replicas he created for the introduction to ‘Prehistoric Planet 2’ which was filmed in the Library of the Natural History Museum and presented by Sir David Attenborough. The series went on to win Best Specialist Factual Programme at the Broadcast Awards.
